Junior training camps and competitions in full swing!

In addition to adult competitions, the Czech rugby league is also alive with children's and junior competitions.

The training camps have stabilized their form and have been taking place in the same spirit since 2022. All children in the U16 category will come to one place and will be divided according to age. First, they will undergo joint training to experience a more comprehensive preparation in large numbers and to experience exercises and an approach different from their home trainers. Coaches can also pass on know-how to each other. Even teams with a small membership base are welcome, they will join another team for matches or someone will add to them.

On March 30, the first indoor training camp took place in Hradec Králové. A total of 54 children participated in the camp! In total, children from 5 clubs from all over the country came. The home team Slavia, Deers from Rychnov, the Eagles from Brod, Dragons from Krupka and Lokomotiva from Beroun had their representatives.

The children were divided into 2 categories, U10 and U16. Because contact rugby was not possible in the hall, it was mainly a division due to the level of work with the ball.

In the morning, a joint training took place. Then the children had lunch provided by the organizer Slavia.

After lunch, a tournament awaited the children and juniors.

In the U10 category, the tournament took place in the form of tag rugby. The matches took place in the form of 4v4. Even for their young age and the fact that for some of them it was the first competitive matches, the children showed great performances and many beautiful, both offensive and defensive actions. 7 teams participated in the tournament. The victory was scored by the second team (only in the order of entry) Hradec Králové.

In the U16 category, the matches were played with a classic touch. The matches took place 5v5 and 4 teams participated in the tournament. The victory was taken by Draci from Krupka, who were complemented by the Eagles from Havlíčkův Brod. The juniors showed their experience and the matches were full of nice actions and great defense.

Due to climatic and time circumstances, the children are now training hard and children's rugby will return at the end of May and then it will be a ride. Outdoor camps will be contact, the intensity of contact will be according to the age and technical competence of the children, because safety comes first. The camps are planned as follows:

1. On Sunday, May 26, the camp will be hosted by Veselý Žďár, home of the Eagles from Havlíčkův Brod. Talents from Bratislava have also promised to participate.
2. Two weeks later, children's rugby will come to Krupka.
3. And we will end the spring part on Sunday, June 22 in Beroun.

These camps will be in the U14 category, because the U16 will be diligently preparing with its implementation team for its trip to Norway, they will be in Norway itself during the Beroun camp. We hope that our talents will not be exposed to obstacles to the trip (you can also help by contributing any amount to the trip of our juniors to Norway to Donio, thank you very much in advance).
